Our lovely conservatory-style dining room has been described as being ‘at the core of the Bartholomeus Klip experience’. The bright and cheerful atmosphere (airconditioned for your comfort in the hot weather) welcomes guests to the beautifully displayed brunch in the mornings, and in the evenings candles and sparkling silver make a fitting setting for the gourmet four-course menu. Booking in advance only. Subject to availability. No children under 15 years old.
Het Vlock Casteel has become well known for its jams, chutneys, ice-cream sauces, preserves, fruit in fortified wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, preserved olives, bottled olive products, dried olives, health rusks, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. These are just some of the products, there are more than 100+ products available for tasting during a visit at Het Vlock Casteel. An olive oil tasting as well as a wine tasting can be offered to complete the experience.
From the restaurant one has beautiful views over vineyards and the valley, framed by blue mountains in the background. The restaurant is a homely, relaxed place with a convivial atmosphere. Sit around the cosy central fireplace on cold winter days or dine al fresco under the oaks or the front stoep in summer. There is a wonderful playground for the kids and you may even choose to order a picnic to enjoy on the lawn, if you wish. Good food, value for money and something for every taste, just about sums up the menu.
Our 150-year-old colonial pub with adjacent smoking restaurant, our non-smoking restaurant, our lounge for High Teas and (weather permitting) our stoep, two outside terraces, our outside bar with terrace and our outside lounge. Also see our listings for our Wedding Venue and Accommodation.
